The Adroit Industries IPO has become one of the most closely watched public issues of the week — and the numbers are hard to ignore. With subscription crossing multiple times the issue size and the grey market premium pointing toward a potentially strong listing, one question deserves attention: is this genuine investor confidence, or is IPO excitement once again running ahead of the fundamentals?
Adroit Industries’ ₹150.71-crore IPO entered its final day of bidding on September 25 with heavy demand. According to the latest figures reported by NDTV Profit, the issue was subscribed 35.09 times by 11 AM, while Moneycontrol reported more than 22 times subscription at 10:10 AM, based on NSE data. The difference reflects the rapidly changing subscription status during the final bidding hours.
Adroit Industries IPO: Retail and NII Demand Explodes
The demand is not coming from just one investor category.
Moneycontrol reported that non-institutional investors had subscribed 39.04 times, while the retail portion was subscribed 26.35 times as of 10:10 AM. The IPO had received bids for more than 17.37 crore shares against 78.73 lakh shares on offer at that point.
The IPO carries a price band of ₹126–₹134 per share, with the minimum retail investment standing at approximately ₹14,874 for one lot of 111 shares.
The subscription figures suggest strong interest across investor categories, but high subscription numbers alone do not establish how the stock will perform after listing.
GMP Is Looking Attractive — But That’s Where the Catch Lies
Adroit Industries has also been attracting strong interest in the grey market.
NDTV Profit reported a GMP of ₹37, implying a GMP-based listing price of ₹171 and a potential 27.61% premium over the upper price band. Moneycontrol, citing InvestorGain, reported a 28% grey-market premium on the morning of September 25.
Sounds exciting? Yes.
But GMP is unofficial. It reflects activity outside the formal stock exchange mechanism and can change before listing. It does not guarantee that Adroit Industries will actually list at the implied price or deliver those gains.
That distinction matters because a strong GMP can quickly become the headline, while the company's actual business, financial performance and prospects can receive less attention.
Where Is the IPO Money Going?
Adroit Industries manufactures propeller shafts and torque-transmission components used in driveline systems. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Dewas, Pithampur and Sanwer and offers more than 5,000 torque-transmission components and assemblies.
The company plans to use ₹63.8 crore from the fresh issue proceeds for machinery, equipment and vehicles. Another ₹24.1 crore is earmarked for repayment of debt at its subsidiary, Adroit Driveshafts, while the remaining funds are intended for general corporate purposes.
These details are important because they show where the IPO proceeds are expected to be deployed rather than simply focusing on subscription and GMP figures.
The Real Question for Investors
The Adroit Industries IPO clearly has strong momentum. But 35x subscription and a 28% GMP are indicators of demand, not guarantees of future performance.
The bigger question is whether the excitement surrounding the IPO can survive beyond September 30, when the shares are tentatively scheduled to list on the NSE and BSE.
For now, Adroit Industries has the market's attention. Whether that attention translates into lasting investor confidence is something the listing — and the company's performance after it — will have to answer.
